2nd Generation Strut Bar and Perfomance

Do front strut bars in these cars make a difference in handling at all? Also, are there and rear ones available?

Probably not much with the soft factory suspension. I use one on my Alltrac with the coilovers. Stiffer is almost always better when it comes to the chassis of a car...

I put one on my car from an ES250, I didn't notice much if any improvement. If you can find one cheap, get it, otherwise save your money. I think I paid $10 for this one so I can't complain.

The ES250 strut bar sucks, belive it or not the 29 doller ebay bar is the best one out there for a second gen Camry it is way stiffer than the ES250 bar. It dose make a noticeable difference even on a car with a stock suspension. It may not handle much better but you can tell the front end feels much stiffer. It wont make you car handle like WRX but for the money Id say its worth it, and if you have coil-overs like I do I would say it is required equipment. Iv had my bar since long before the coil-overs.

Both camrygt4 and I have Alltrac Camrys - which match up very closely with the Alltrac Celica. ST185 Celica coilovers fit with minor modifications on the Alltrac Camry.

Others on here have modified ST184 (FWD) Celica coilovers though... search around.

Thanks Charlie, I did find some older posts of yours talking about the coilovers. They sound awesome but are way out of my price range. I have the kyb's waiting and I'm picking up my springs tonight. I can't wait!

dem2757- I found B&G suspension makes S2 Sport springs for the gen 2 with 4 or 6 cylinder.
The part number is 92.1.010. Good luck finding them I had to make a lot of calls to find them. I ended up getting them through Autoanything.com. $243.30 shipped. I'll post before and after pics when I'm done.

That's not a strut bar - that's a swaybar or a stabilizer bar (they mean the same thing). A strut bar goes between the top of the strut towers and stiffens the chassis.
