88 coil resistance

Manual says 0.38 to 0.46 but im getting 1.1-1.0 from mine. The new one at auto store was 1.8, I tried two coils both the same.I found a similar post in the search but no conclusion.

Have my meter set to 200, the lowest setting.Tried all the other settings... no progress.

Any ideas? Thanks..

What resistance do you get if you put the probe leads together? What about if you connect them together using one pin on the coil (if possible)? You will probably find that the extra resistance you are seeing is just part of your test setup, not the coil. It is very hard to test resistances <2ohms or so...

If there are hairline cracks in the coil, it needs to be replaced. A new one is probably fine, but there are no guarantees.

2nd Generation

Newbie here-
88 camry 3sfe
bumped this found on coil test search.
On digital multi meter I get 0 ohms across meter leads.
.8 between + and- terminals on coil.

Where is the high tension terminal? for secondary resistance?
My Haynes is a haynes.
If it is the metal bar that is part of the housing I get 22 ohms.
If that is not it- where is it?
Whitedx 90 suggested coil so testing it.
Can not see any visible cracks in coil, but car has started slowing while at speed. Backing off acc pedal relieves the loading feeling, but just not responding while under load.
Thanks
