1990 2.0 Camry wont start - 80 amp fuseable link blown

My teenage son left the door ajar and the battery went dead. He jumped the car and he got nothing. The 80amp alt. fuse-able link blew so I replaced that and now the car just turns over but will not fire up. I have the feeling he may have reversed the jumper cables. Is there another fuse that could have blown?

Do the warning lights and check engine light come on with the key in "ignition on" position?

Yes all the lights come on, and the engine turns over.

Hi, I think we met at the junkyard yesterday.... we pulled the instrument cluster.

If so, small world!

So, we need fuel, spark, and timing to run.

Timing belt failure, rare but possible.

Next, is it getting spark? Check by pulling spark plug and grounding it, or some other method.

Fuel? can check by squirting a little starting fluid in and see if it fires.

Let us know what you find out!

Yes, we did meet yesterday.....very small world. The car is about 45 minutes away so I am trying to gather as much info before I go back up to work on it. From what I gather I need to check all the fuses. I will check all the options that you have mentioned and I will get back with you. Thanks and I can t wait to put in the instrument panel.

Awesome! Be sure to check out my rear disk brake swap thread. It's what I was working on yesterday.

We should get you up and running in short order!
