90 LE transmission filter; easy to change???

I'm going to tackle replacing the AT filter in my 1990 LE Camry for the first time. The shop manual doesn't make it very clear how it comes out. Are there screws or bolts? I'd appreciate any advice for a successful operation. Seems I'm supposed to drain the pan, take off the bolts in a crosswise manner, scape off old gasket & clean, somehow replace the filter, clean off the magnets and pan, put on new gasket and torque the bolts back on in a crosswise fashion, and refill with fluid. Sound right to you?

Sounds like you've pretty much got it. The filter is held in place by three bolts. There is a gasket on the top side of the filter where it meets the valve body, check to be sure that all of the old gasket came off with the old filter before you mount the new one.
It's pretty easy to do, just messy as there will still be some fluid left in the pan after you have drained it. Good luck!
