2nd Generation Interior Pieces

Anyone know where I can get blue interior pieces for my Camry? The 2 upper middle pillars both cracked. Thanks.

I can look next time I'm in the junkyard, but shipping would be killer. Otherwise? I can only recommend eBay or see if there is a mainland yard that can pull them and ship them to you...

Thanks man. I think I can get my hands on some now, but I have one question. How can I remove the pieces without breaking them?

I would have to go take a look, but my brother has left for a dentist's appointment in the Camry. I would experiment on the cracked ones. Search quite thoroughly across the entire trim piece for screws or whatnot, and if you can't find any, gently pry along the edges with your fingers... They'll tend to hurt before you break any plastic.

In fact, let me go check the All-Trac. It should be the same. Report back in a few.

it's held on with 2 metal clips that grabs the plastic. one on top and other at the bottom.i can't find a picture online. they sell tools to pry clips out but you can always use a flap screw driver.

Ok thanks. It just seemed to me that the part was made to break and be replaced if they were ever removed. Someone took it off before from what I could tell from the amount of glue I found on it.

Sorry I forgot to report back. It simply pried off. I used a steady, gentle pressure (with my fingers) and it let go with what sounded like a crack but nothing broke.

I've removed the pillars in my Cressida before to replace them for better ones from a junked car. You do have to be careful. On the Cressida it was screwed into the car on the top (which going off memory from my friend's Camry isn't the case) and hooked in by one of those metal clips at the bottom. When I tried prying them off the wrecked car, one of the metal clips completely separated from the plastic pillar. It wasn't that big of a deal since the top part screwed on and I was able to get the replacement pillar to fit fine. The other pillar got out without a fight.

It takes some finesse to get them out, but it can be done.

It sure does take some finesse. It's weird with me, I'm normally good with my hands, but I always tend to break things off accidentally. :P

Oddly enough the driver side piece broke for mine too. I'm not familiar with junk yards in my current area, NYC and was hoping to find these part online but not having much luck. If I do find anything useful I'll post back here for anybody else in the same situation.
Thanks for all the advise! I feel more prepared now for removing the piece off a junk yard card!
