Oxygen Sensor 1991 Camry

Howdy y'all. I'm interested in changing my oxygen sensor. I've read some very good things about Denso. I see that there are 1 wire and 2 wire models, as well as screw in and flange type. How do I know which one to order? And, is there only the one sensor upstream from the catalytic converter or is there a downstream sensor on my '91? Thanks, Sholom.

on my 91 2.0 it a single wire flange o2...very easy to change as its at the top side of exhaust manifold[more or less]...pop your hood and take a look as its not hidden....my car has only one o2[nothing downstream].

Thanks

I'm looking forward to getting into it in the morning. I've seen oxygen sensor sockets. Hopefully, I can get the job done with "regular" tools, though the socket isn't expensive. I'm sure a lot less than what a shop would charge!
Thanks again.

you just need a 12mm deep socket wrench and may be some PBlaster

CA models usually have the two. If you have the V6 model you have to take off the front passenger wheel to see it. Hopefully you have the flange type since those are easier to remove. It's just two screws. I used an extension and a universal joint to get to the nuts to get to mines.

If it's the 4 banger, should be easier to find. You really only need to worry about the upstream one.

I got mines from rockauto for cheap. Do a search for "rock auto coupon code" and be sure to use it to get a discount.

The best way to know what you need is to pop your hood and look. The exhaust manifold is right at the front of the engine on the 4-cyinder. Look for the sensor on the exhaust manifold. If you have a CA car, you will have two, and the first (important) one should be a two wire flange type. Check to be sure for yourself.

If you have an extra car, take the sensor with you to the auto parts store...
