Type of battery used

Hi all;

I'm trying buy a new battery for my '90 Camry (3S). The attendants ask me how many plates, but i have no clue. Can someone enlighten me please?

Sounds like attendants who have no clue. Go somewhere else and have them look up the application on their chart. Should be a no brainer.

I usually go for dry cell or gel cell batteries... They're more resistant to the low temperatures we get in winter here.

Attendant has no clue what they're doing. They can look up required battery specs in their computer system and find you something to meet/beat those specs.

Thanks for the response Zebonez & '88 All-Trac. They are a real let down. I called one store and the attendant basically gave me an option of an 11, 13 or 15 plate battery. I'm assuming that as the plates increase so does the battery size... i could be wrong.

I asked if any one of these would run the car properly and i was told yes. I gave them all the specs on the car.

Just grab an Exide that fits. It'll be all the power you'll ever need... Problem solved. No worries about cold starts, nothing. The ~six-year-old Optima in my Geo will start it at 25* below 0 farenheit- the Exide is a higher quality battery from what I've heard.
