under hood pad??

my 91 DX DOESNT HAVE ANY UNDER THE HOOD INSULATION...DO THE LE CARS USE A INSULATION PAD??

not all of them had it. You could buy some insulation off of summitracing.com or any auto wholesales. Usually, if you never noticed the sound problem, you dont really need one.

Pretty sure it depended on the trim level. I think the insulation is worth while it does help, time to make a trip to your local salvage yard.

my 90' LE v6 had one on it, or shall i say what was left of one. That thing made a terrible mess of the engine bay, pieces of the fabric were all over the place and crumbling everywhere. I completely removed it.

The engine does seem kind of noisy without it being there, and so I plan on eventually replacing it with some sort of noise/heat insulation material that I've seen online. The aftermarket type I've seen has the heat reflecting silver/foil (whatever it is) material and hopefully won't cause a mess in the engine as it gets old.

As long as its not directly on the engine and if you dont poke holes in it, they last long time.
