1991 Camry V6 Question

Guys, I have been working on getting a used transmission put back into my Camry. We got the transmission from a junk yard and put it back together with the motor yesterday. As we were trying to fasten the torque converter to the flex plate we noticed that the bolts that we had taken from the torque converter were a different size than the ones needed to be used on the newer torque converter, we are using the torque converter that came with the transmission that we purchased. Is this normal for the bolts to be different sizes? The transmission and torque converter look exactly the same as the ones we originally removed. However these bolts are a different thread pattern. Naturally the torque converter we got from the junk yard had no bolts in it so I have to find bolts that will work. I want to make sure that I am not missing something here. Is there anything else I need to be aware of? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Have you bought the pre-pulled tranny or you removed it yourslf from the 88 to 91 Camry v-6?
4 cylinder Camries of 91 year model got smaller torque coverter, however it is fully interchangable with older ones. The bolt holes should have M8 thread (1.25 mm pitch)
I would recommend to get a VIN number from the donor car or at least the tranny serial number and make sure it is from the same generation.

Thanks DR J. It was a prepulled tranny so I will need to contact the yard that I got the tranny from. It appears to be exactly the same torque converter only difference is the threads on the bolts that were removed from my original tranny. Thanks for the info.
