Camry has bad shudder/vibration at 40-50

My girlfriend's 1991 Camry V-6 with 100K on it has a bad shudder when passing through the 40-45 mph range, it smooths out some at 50. It idles ok, and drives fairly good( but not great ) at speeds below 40. I recently changed out a bad fuel injector ( electrically failed)after having almost identical symptoms, and it ran fine after that for several weeks, now this. The injectors appear to be working ok ( strong ticking at idle when checked with stethescope, ohms around 15-16 ) near as I can tell. When the vibration occurs, if I tap the brakes or put it into idle, it pretty much goes away. Any ideas?

Easiest thing to check would be wheel/tire balancing. It should be cheap/free at any tire shop.

Check all the motor mounts for crack/broken rubber or missing fasteners.

Does it only do it while accelerating?

Hi Charlie,

I will get gf to take the car to get that ( wheel balance ) checked. Yes it is really only noticeable during acceleration. As I mentioned, the symptoms are virtually identical to when it had the bad injector which is why I checked there first.

Drive a car in the different gear (turn o/d off) and see if the shudder happens at the different speed
