I have two connections points, one is by the battery and has one connection point, the connector is round with what appears to be a slot for a wire to connect. The wire coming to the connector is white if that helps. Also I have a connection point coming out of the main wiring harness with what appears to be a two pin connector. It is located just above the distributor cap, I can not find a home for this connector, please help if you can. Thanks

Diagnostic test point for shop troubleshooting.

On my 4clyinder I believe this particular wire was connected to the transmission/motor mount?
Not sure about your first question, the second question, is this the connector? If so, nothing plugs into it.
Here is a complete engine bay in case you need a reference.

Here are the pictures of the two connectors, the round one is by the battery and fuse box. The second is located on top of the distributor cap and below where the air filter attaches to the plenom.
Brown & gray is probably for EGR thermo sensor in the EGR valve (lower photo)
On upper photo the cylindrical single wire plastic connector (C3) is for All-track and may not be needed
Doctor J, I went out last night and searched everywhere around the Egr Valve and found no place for this connector to connect too. Can you send me a photo of where you think it attaches? Thanks in advance!
It used on 89 California and 90-91 federal(?), 4 and 6 cylinders. The sensor is threaded into the EGR valve right under its "hat"(4cyl) or into the plenum(6cyl). your engine may just have a plug in the plenum as on picture above by Corolla71
Based on what I've seen... both are left open on your car. (one is for EGR gas temp which you don't have and one is for ABS which you don't have)
Also, if you look closely at the pictures, you can see the built-up grime inside the connectors where they would be clean if they were plugged into something.
