re: carpet kit

Aloha Folks-
I wanted to ask you how hard is it to do this task? What one should look for?

Also, where would you order your carpet kits from? I currently have this soft velour type of carpet and would like to change it out to something a little more durable but in the same dark blue color if possible.

I have the station wagon (89) but I think the carpet kit should be the same, 1 piece that includes front and back. Also hoping to install some sound deadening material as well.

Look forward to hearing what you have done and what works well with our cars.
Mahalo

Think you can order these carpets off on ebay. I've seen some sellers offering 'precison cut' ones for your particular model of car. Not sure how good it is though. Maybe someone knows more about that here.

All I know is get a carpet set with the padding or backing (whatever they call it) it cuts the road noise down. I replaced my carpet in the pickup about 10 years ago, and that thing is noticeably noisy because I went the cheap route and didn't get it with the backing/padding. If you don't get the good stuff, then I would suggest buying some sound dampener material and lay that down first.
