Can't find the right distributor o-ring for a 91 dx 4 cylinder

I checked partsgeek.com and got the part number W0133-1644184 which on their site says it fits the dx sedan from '91. 2.0, 3sfe. That's the exact car and trim I have. I decided I may go through amazon instead to get it with some other stuff I need that partsgeek doesn't have, like aviation permatex for a freeze plug I'm repairing at the same time. I need the ishino part (I guess this is OEM). What is the RIGHT part number? Amazon is saying W0133-1644184 is not the correct one.

It may just be easier for you to go to the dealer and order one. The OEM part number is 90099-14091 and it retails for $3.62.

Yeah, I definitely considered it. Thanks for the part #.

good luck with yours. I replaced mine after a rebuild, then it started leaking a couple months later. I recently replaced it again with another brand new OEM one again and it leaks again! .

I was careful not to twist it and pinch it...I'm going to try and use some FIPG with it for the 3rd try. Anyone else got better suggestions?

Do you have the same model car? I know some of these don't have the distributors with the shafts that slot into the cam like mine does. I've also heard about the replacements leaking, but only with off-brand replacements instead of OEM. Kinda' surprised to hear your OEM one leaked on you.

mines a v6 but same type of design where you line it up so it goes into the slots in the cam.

Damn. Thanks for the head's up on it. By the way, does it leak worse than the old o-ring did or about the same after the swap?

same...it stopped for about 3 days...then started slowly and now back to before....

I'm gonna mark my distributor with a pen (so I can get it back exactly where it was) remove it again, clean it up real good again, put some FIPG down and put it back on. Then let it sit overnight so the FIPG dries.

Start it up in the morning and pray, cross fingers, and hope that my timing is within spec (can't adjust it since the FIPG dried or I'll have to do it all over again) and also hope that it doesn't leak AGAIN.

Good idea with the FIPG. If that doesn't stop it, nothing would. My current leak is very small, but it's irritating over time.

The V6 engine has two O-rings, something to keep in mind.

Yes, it's not the one coming from the distributor cap (that ones new oem too), it's the one from the shaft that leaks.

Make sure the shaft itself doesn't have a gouge in it that would allow oil to leak past the o-ring.

I've used 'Aviation Form-a-Gasket' before to prevent oil leaks and it works well. My VW air-cooled engines rarely leaked when I used it, especially around the pushrod tubes.

I've inspected it twice, but if there's the slightest imperfection it will get filled with fipg. I'm pretty sure it's the cam cap though. The one your suppose to put fipg on, probably didn't put enough. But, I'll solve that with fipg around the o-ring and around the mating surface of the cap to the head...probably have to keep doing it once a year.

form in place gasket....it's toyota rtv silicone stuff, suppose to be the best.

No, no, no.....you don't need to worry about what I was saying. I did a top end rebuild and you put fipg on the end cam shaft cap which is the same area that the distributor plugs into. I'm saying when I put my heads back on and camshaft, I didn't put enough fipg on the cam bearing cap....so that's where I/ME/PERSONALLY am leaking from....not you. If you didn't pull your head and camshaft you're probably fine and just need a gasket.

This is where it's put on if your doing a top end rebuild. I'm thinking I didn't put enough and so I need to put some on the inside where the o-ring is to seal it up because it's getting around the o-ring.
