Dome Courtesy Light Camry to ES 250

Don't know if this has been posted before but went looking for a new dome light. Mine was acting funny the switch was getting loose and ready to fall off, the toggle switch discolored to almost white, and plus I had already had to solder a piece of wire in it to keep it working (you can kind of see the black jury rigged wire inside of it).

Pulled one from a ES 250 and I think it's much better than the Camry's. Its bigger, seems brighter because of the bigger lense, the toggle switch is beefier, and it's the same color as the camry grey.

It's plug and play, all 4 screw holes line up perfectly, so a no brainer upgrade.

Sweet upgrade, I like it. Too bad the ES250 is such a rare car for me to find around here. You should buy the dome lights up from your local salvage yard and put them up for sale, I'd buy one.

^there are atleast 2 for sale on ebay now + the front seat light switch which would be an even cooler upgrade:

Thanks for the tip; what type of bulb does it use?
I'm going to upgrade mine (it is falling apart and did so on my late 79 Supra too)!

My Camry LE already has that type of front light, but if yours doesn't then you can grab one from another Camry that does also.

The bulb is the same, I have an LED bulb so just switched it over.

For those of you that want brighter interior lights (besides upgrading the bulbs), you can put a small bit of reflective aluminum tape behind the bulb to reflect more light into the car. Make sure it won't bridge the terminals on the bulb... I've done this on my WRX and Alltrac and it adds maybe 25-50% more light where you want it.

I'd also like to add in

You will be able to use a E100 Corolla (1993 ~1997) Corolla dome light inside of a Gen1 (and I believe Gen2 since it looks the same). I only had to use 2 screws VS the 4 it had orginally.

I finally got LIGHT

The only thing is that the power connector will have to be flipped to fit. I did this and it works awesome without a hitch. No modding or cutting either

Basically I think anything that looks remotely similar for the mid 80's to the mid 90's should be okay.
