Auto to 5 Speed Swap, also, 88 Celica Alltrac parts compat?

Its starting to become time to do a Auto-5 Speed swap on my '91 AllTrac.

Anyone been down this road? .. or even on just a normal front wheel drive camry?

Any weirdness?

I havent spent any time on fwd/4wd cars.. so Im not 100% sure what Im going to require here that might be specific to them..

I might have access to an '88 Celica alltrac parts car.. any other bits from that I might want?

Heres the list of things I think I need so far:

Clutch pedal assembly (incl master, slave, hardlines etc)
Shifter assembly (fwd car one work?)
Trans
Front halfshafts? - 5 speed camry ones work? need to be alltrac?
driveshaft?
do fwd cars use any kind've trans mount like rwd or?

thanks,

Brett

Been there done that (as have a few others on FWD Camrys).

There are generally very few surprises. The shifter cables go through the firewall in a different spot, you have to make a few wiring changes. Most of the mounts, etc are otherwise easy to figure out though.

Use all FWD Camry manual transmission parts that are attached to the chassis - clutch pedal assembly, master cylinder + lines to the trans, shifter assembly, cables, etc.

The manual trans from a Celica Alltrac is compatible, grab the mounts and the front axles while you are there. The prop shaft is the same on auto and manual trans Camry Alltrac, so that part is easy (rear diff is compatible too).

Engine/trans mounts on the Camry are mostly on the transmission (all but one), but are also easy to figure out once you are there...
