2nd Gen Brake Upgrades?

Hey i was looking to upgrade my brakes and i wanna know where i can get bigger calipers and better rotors.I have the es250 rear disk brakes so i wanna do the front too all at the same time.

Ive been wondering this as well. Like what other cars brakes can retrofit onto our cars with the smallest amount of fab work possible?

I saw Charlie has Porsche Brembos on his with some custom brackets

5x100 Celica stuff ('87 through 200x) and Scion tC stuff is very close to bolt-on. Sadly, the stock stuff for those cars isn't much of an upgrade.

Is your budget a few hundred or a few thousand? How much improvement are you looking for? What kind of custom work are you willing/able to do?

Porsche calipers and Subi discs are a fairly well-documented (as in bolt-on kits are available) swap for the ST185 guys... And those who want bigger rear brakes, I've read will go ST205- though I imagine parts suck to find.

I find my stock brakes to be perfectly adequate. For giggles, I stuck on my brother's 205s and I could still lock 'em all up. That's enough brake for me.

That's another good thought....

EBC Red Stuff pads, new Brembo stock replacement rotors (blank) and stainless brake lines (yes, they are available!) will get you good performance for anything but driving on a track.

The brakes on my Alltrac are as much for show as they are for go... (errr... stop) Oh, and they are a bit more needed with close to 300hp instead of closer to 100hp.

True enough on the 300hp vs 100hp aspect- but I generally speaking take my brakes to be plenty if I can lock 'em up while turning or going in a straight line while coasting.

Admittedly, my track experience is limited and only with the 2wd at that.

I will be upgrading to something else soon I think, but my current set up has been great for the past two years EBC yellows( I highly recommend over the reds unless you are a little girl about brake dust) ss brake lines, cryo treated and drilled brembo rotors, and super blue fluid. Sure I can outdrive these brakes but I have to try, and for most of you this setup will have more stopping power than you need.
