88 Camry - Idle problem after a hard stint

My problem only occurs when ive driven the car hard. Otherwise, the engine idles perfectly.

When i'm driving and pushing it a bit, eg, revving, higher speeds etc, especially on long runs down the highway, when i come to a stop, the idle drops and it feels like it will stall, sometimes it has stalled. And I usually have to hold the accelerator a bit until it equalizes out back to normal.

What it the problem??

Hello!

I'd check if the car is running on 4 cylinders : check sparks on all spark plugs. It can be many other things, make sure that most things like air filter, vaccuum hoses, sensors,... are still in a good condition.
You could also check your compressions : that will at least tell you if something major has happened (could save you a lot of time to start that way in fact).

ehm sorry I just noticed you had a v6, check if it is running on 6 cylinders !
