My 88 Camry 4-cyl leaks 1 qt/600 miles, but the oil is getting on the top of the engine, including plug wires, hood liner and the exhaust manifold shield. It seems to cover a wide area, as though it is being sprayed? Any ideas on where it is coming from?

You probably have :

a) leaking cam cover gasket (easy fix), or
b) leaking oil pressure sensor. (Looking at the engine, it's toward the top of the cylinder head to your right (drivers' side). It has a wire coming out of it and is attached to the head by a 24mm bolt. Look for seepage out of here, I had to replace one when I had my '87 and they make a mess over time).

Check these two things first, I'd recommend
