Gen1 84camryLE transmission setting

Hi,

I got My first car : a 84camryLE. Since i dont have the user book, i need some info. The transmission (automatic) has 3 settings: normal, power and economic. Can somebody explain me what each of these 3 setting really does?

The car is fine and is not too much rusty.

4 small problems : 1) The tach is dead

2) the rear lights alert sometimes shows

3) engine hard to start when cold

4) wipper wont stop after a cycle (stops when i switch)
thx in advance.

Normal is obviously normal driving, power redlines every gear before shifting, and economic I'm assuming shifts at lower RPM's than normal mode.

The settings just change the rpm at which the transmission shifts.

1) You don't need it, fix it if you have the $$$

2) Take the bulbs out, clean the contacts, us vaseline and put em back. You also might have a bulb with an almost broken filament.

3) The cold start injector might need to be changed. Its about rear center of the intake chamber.

4) Take the wiper motor off and clean the switch limit contacts. If the contacts are damaged, get a replacement motor from a junker.
