Tail light help, 84 camry
Hi, new here, I'm trying to fix up a couple Toyota's to help out some single moms at my church. The current project is a 84 Camry. Fully loaded w/cruise if that matters.
The brake lights don't work, I've checked all the bulbs, everything works but the brake lights. When I unhook the lamp failure box in the trunk and run power to the brake lights at that connection the brake lights work properly so it's not a short in that end. When it's all together though, about 2 sec after I hit the brake peddle the brake warning light comes on on the dash.
Before I cough up $175 for a part that may not be the issue is there a way to check the wiring comming into this box or a way to eliminate the lamp failure box all together?
I've tried the search, nothing seems applicable to cars as old as 84, but a few of the threads found mentioned a way to bypass the box all together. Anyone know how this would be done?
