If you use the Euro lights, make sure you get the corner lights too, otherwise you will be very dissapointed. You need the whole set to get it to bolt up.... and possibly even the grill and nose piece.

Have fun!

Don't the corner lights just screw directly to the fenders? What dictates that they must be used with Euro headlights? They look like they're the same shape to me - not different like ES250 or weirdo JDM parts.

The headlights and corner lights are different. I own a pair of euro corners - I've already been down the path and they don't bolt in. The fenders are the same, but the corner lights interfere with the headlights.

Charlie, I may come after you for those Euro corners if I can find a set of headlights cheap enough to import.

2nd Generation

In order to use the Euro headlights, you will have to convert the entire front to Euro spec; which is what Joey eventually did on his Camry. This includes the front grille.

Matt (phat91camryle) was the first to complete the conversion.
At the time, Joey retrofitted the ES250 lights with custom brackets before eventually doing the conversion.

Here's a pic of Matt's Camry:

The parts can be ordered via Ozeparts (http://www.ozeparts.com.au) but the shipping is what's really going to hurt the wallet.

I noticed something funky about those so called Euro headlights in the
pic, then i noticed that its aussie spec headlights /w foglights! they are actualy different from the euro spec and the us ones.

Blast. I wish there was a LHD version of the Aussie setup, but barring that, I would be more than happy with Euro lights (and corners, if I have to). This is a family truckster, wife's daily ride and our general road trip car, not a show car, so I don't care one way or another about clear corners or genuine JDM Baller Status (tm) brand accessories. I just want some damn headlights that work!

As for requiring a matching grille and header panel, the hell with that. I will MAKE them work. Fabrication is not an issue with me.

Can anyone point me towards some really good, clear, close-up pictures of late gen2 Aussie and/or Euro headlights? I'm still not certain whether Aussie lights have fog lights or high beams on the inboard position. I want a better understanding of how the lenses and housings are made and what can be done to achieve the pattern and light output I want. Euro H4s will do it, but if there was a way to get the Aussie four-bulb setup that would be better yet.

I hate cars sometimes...

Looking at the lenses and light assemblies on Ozeparts for '89-92 Camrys, note that the fluting drops away on both sides of center. My Cibies drop only on the left (driver's) side and, on low beam, light up horizontal plus an upward flare to the right, away from oncoming traffic. I would expect a normal RHD light's fluting to drop only to the right (their driver's side) and, on low beam, light up horizontal and to the left, away from oncoming traffic. But the Aussie lens seems to drop away on both sides of center. That leads me to believe that 1) the lens is capable of accomodating either LHD or RHD use, and 2) a crafty person could find a way to rework the bulb shield inside the light and basically convert it to an effective LHD light pattern.

Interesting.

A little pic to compare the 3 different types
the euro version was supposed to have lo-beam + high beam but for some reason went for a singel bulb hi/lo solution instead
but it still can support a inner high beam if you drill a hole, because the reflector is still there, its just sealed off
NB! The aussie version is Hi/lo-beam + fogs a little error there

Zandro maður, það er flott hjá þér! Nice observation. If the Euro lights are also ready for the high beam H1s eða H3s þá á ég kannski að kaupa par frá þér. Ætli það sém hægt að finna corner lights hjá þér? It's a little bit of money but I want good light and kónan mín wants the car to look good so I can't do the quad rounds.
Maybe I should stick to English, but I never get to practice my Icelandic anymore.
