broken timing belt on 89 camry

A friend of mine has a 89 Camry 4-door.he said that the timing belt broke on it.i told him that i would see if i could help him on it.thats where i need your help i have a celica and don't know anything about a camry.he told me sombody said since it broke and he tried to crank it after that that he might have warped a valve or could have damaged the head.i don't know what size motor he has i'm thinking the 2.0l 3SFE.i'm going to check it tomorrow and try see what it is to gather info on the engine.any help would be thanks in advance for the info

nope you just have to set everything in place and do the belt again.. it's an non-interfering engine... you can crank it with a broken timing belt a million times and it won't break a valve or anything
