91 4cyl auto axle question

Getting the lower joint seperated & outer portion of the pass side axle out was easy.It was when I tried pulling the remainder out. I have the type that's held in by a clamp & bolt at the mid-bearing portion which I had removed & still couldn't get the "half shaft" out by the suggested of using a hammer & punch.Any help would be great.

1. Unbolt the mount from the back of the block.

2. Remove axle from tranny.

3. Then try to seperate the axle from the mount.

^ I saw that thread too.

Hammering on the axle and mount is not a good idea. If you break the bolts on the mount you'll have a bigger problem to deal with.

I've had to deal with a seized axle. What I did was unbolt the mount with the axle stuck in it. Clamp the mount in a vise, soak the bearing with penatrating oil, and use a block of wood + BFH (big f'in hammer) on the end of the axle.
