I have a 1990 toyota camry v6 dlx and my reverse lights come on when the car is started and stay on. I want to know if anyone know where the backup light switch is and if i can get to it from under the hood? I just want to see if thats the issue
The backup switch is part of the neutral safety switch, front bottom of the transmission a fairly large connector. If the lights are still one after removing that connector check for frayed wires near the left side trunk hinge. I am assuming you have the auto transmission, or are you one of the lucky ones to have the 5-speed?
if its the manual the switch is on the top of the transmission iirc. a two wire connect i bleive. ill be home in a couple hours to confirm if you do indeed have the manual trans
