I own a 1990 Toyota Camry which is equipped with a Fujitsu Ten (Toyota)
Vehicle Security System. I recently lost the only keyless remote that
came with the car and have had no luck finding a replacement. The alarm now
goes off when the door is opened and won't let the car start (had to disconnect the battery). Even if a replacement remote were available it would probably cost more
than the alarm system is worth to me. As such, I decided to simply remove the security system but it is sophisticated enough to disable the starting circuit when the ECU is
unplugged. I have tried to obtain service information on the system
from Toyota to no avail. They show the ECU part number in their system
but that's it. I have the factory electrical manual for the car and
unfortunately there are no wiring diagrams showing how the security
system is wired into the car. Although the system appears to be factory
installed (the wiring loom does not look aftermarket), the car's
original owner thought it was dealer installed. Can anyone
help me locate information on this system, ideally in the form of a
schematic showing what the 18 different wires connect to on the car?
With this information, I'm sure I could restore the car to running order
less the security system. I have even tried contacting Fujitsu Ten's car
electronics division with no response.
A description of the ECU is as follows: Toyota part number
00398-00910, serial no. 900219M256
Also printed on the ECU, FCC ID: BABMW-8170 MW-8170 Fujitsu Ten
Limited made in Japan
