4th Generation 1999 CE or LE

I just bought a 1999 Camry 4 cyl automatic car. The emblem on the trunk says LE, and the guy said it is an LE.

The VIN is 4T1BG22KXXU469125.

After checking around on the net, the options that are on the car make it seem like the car may actually be a CE model. If someone out there has a Carfax account going, could you please run this to find out if it really is a CE. The 'book' value is a bit less for the CE, but I paid for an LE. I may want to have a chat with the seller about this.

Is cruise control 'standard' on the LE ? This car does not have it.

Other equipment on this car could be on both CE and LE.

All help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Try contacting Big Body LE or something like that. He has a 2001 CE and he should be able to tell you what he has and paid, I know u can also add options to the CE.

Carfax will not tell u much. I think it will come back as
Toyota camry Ce/Le
I did a carfax for my car before i bought it and carfax told me it was a "Ce/Le "

Thanks for the info. Your right about the Carfax. Said CE/LE/XLE.

After 'booking the car out on Kelly Bluebook, NADA, & Edmunds, it seems that LE came with cruise control as standard equipment. They all gave different prices for the same car model.

Guess I'll go by the Kelly, cause that is the one everyone around here uses. With the options on it, the $$ difference between CE & LE was only $150. The seller told me he booked it out, but he was $1000 higher than it really comes in at. I don't think he was lying, I think he might have done it wrong.

I will be contacting him for some $$ back.

Cruise control and ABS were options on the 1999 Camry LE. The CE had manual window with power windows as an option. Yo probably have the base Camry LE.

Let me get this right, you bought a car at an agreed on price and now you want some money back? Good Luck.

Well, here's what happened. I called the parts dept at toyota dealer, gave them the vin, and found out it IS a CE. I then called the seller and told him that, and that it booked out on Kelly Bluebook for $400 less than I paid him.

See, he told me he booked it out for $6200. He thought it was an LE cause it said it on the enblem. I asked what he wanted, he said $6k, I said $5500, he said ok and he sold it to me. But later when I told him about it not being an LE, and that it actually booked at $5100, he agreed to give me $400 back and that makes it book price.

He had said that it had newer brakes, but the fronts were shot, and rotors too. So I told him that I just wanted him, and me, to be happy with the deal. He said he was ok with it, as he WAS going to donate it to charity.

So I have a car at book value, and he has $5100 in his pocket.

Thanks for everyone's input.
