I've personally seen 3 vehicles sporting STS setups. A C6, a Magnum Hemi, and a Charger Hemi.
Their biggest complaints? Instead of waiting .5-1 second for boost to come, sometimes it can take as long as 1-2 seconds to get benefit. I'd pin that on how far the exhaust as to travel then how far the intake charge has to travel. HOWEVER- all 3 said the power gained was fantastic, you just need to be extra-patient lower down.
I've also noticed a longer Blow-off period with them. Evacuating 20 feet of pressurized pipe versus 10 feet would likely be the cause there.
Not to mention the sleeper effect of it. Keep the turbo tucked up, someone pops your hood and thinks... Wait, it looks stock other than the piping run down into the bumper... Must be a CAI. Then you spank them hard and fast. lol
It is a "Camry for Christ's sake" but anyone can say they wish they had something. Sometimes its a hollow statement, but sometimes thats the start of a project. Don't diss on someone for wishing.
And yes, it is old news. But still cool news.
