Gen4 5SFE: Check Engine - Gas Cap Code

A week ago my check engine light came on, and my mechanic said that it was a faulty gas cap code, which went away once they reset it. It just went on again yesterday, so I was going to take it back in. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems to initially come on in rainy weather, and only after driving for a while (20 min or so). I was thinking of just picking up a gas cap and seeing if that would fix it... Any input/experiences would be appreciated!

Thanks,

DJ

P.S. I have a '98 5SFE Camry...

Is this the code that basically says that the gas cap needs tightening? I know the CEL can come on for that reason.

Yup, that's the code, except the gas cap was properly tightened. I might just get a new gas cap and see if it goes away...

Thanks,

DJ

Should be cheap enough that you can get a "Genuine Toyota Part" too!

On a side note, I just bought a car bra from my dealership because it's cheaper there than CanTire!! :o I love Toyota....you could never get lower prices at VW dealerships.
