Hello all,
Im looking into buying a strut bar for my camry(2001 I4) and i read that the TRD strut bar for the solara(99-03) fits is this true? i just want to make sure if this info is correct...
are you two guys talking about the strut bar that goes across the suspension towers in the engine bay yeah? Will it fit with the V6? Striaght bolt on no fancey stuff?
thanks
i know that the solara gen1 and camry gen 4 looks the same, but there is more room in the engine for the solara as the hood has like a 3inch gap. Camry have like 1.5 inch gap.
It should fit and my suggestion is to go search some of the pics in the TN gallery and PM those guys who have the TRD bar
Im not sure what the discussion is. As I stated in my post I have owned/own a 01 Sol and 99 Cam, both supercharged, both TRD strut bar, etc and the part is a direct match.
Both the solara and the camry SHARE the same part number for the TRD strut bar (so yeah its the same part). The trd strut bar really isn't needed in my opinion...a regular cheaper strut bar will do you suffice. Only reason some people acquired it, cus the trd strut bar helps us with clearance issues when we're supercharged (cus of the raised bar). but if your not supercharged and don't plan on it..just buy a reg strut bar from ebay and use the difference in money on RSB!
I'm probably going to finally notch it and box weld closed this weekend. I've had the bar for 3 year. I ony had it on for about 6 mos total looking for alternatives.
Thre were some low profile fittings out a few years ago but I havent found any
