Any How To's on Head gasket change i4 5sfe

Looking to do this myself. my dad said he would help me.. so no problem really...

any guides on this, more than the haynes which I have, but i would like a few sources.

also, i cannot find an 5sfe hks head gasket. few 5s people like cometic, some dont. also, OEM metal gasket was out of what camry... also there is one on ebay for like $60, but its a knock off brand i think.

Try the repair manual sticky at the top of the page.

The headgasket is not a horrble repair to do. Especially on the I4. when you get the repair manual it will be one of the eg files. I cannot remember if it is 1 or 2 but it will have everything you need to do it as far as instructions and torque specs are concerned.

Depending on how much help you have sometimes it is easier to remove the head with all the exhaust and intake manifolds attached and then disassemble once you have the head off. just make sure you mark all of your vacuum hoses vell. the plugs arent as big a deal since they will only plug into what the unplugged off of. The biggest thing you need to make sure of is torque specs for the head bolts and all that good stuff.
