3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Is Brospeed the only company that makes headers for the toyota camrys? I have a 1mz-fe engine and was wondering if those headers would be able to go on my car?
i e-mailed ELP today and they said they're almost done with Gen3 headers. The price will be around $350 so i'm definetely getting one :smile: as for turbocharger, i don't know if BT's $2500 turbocharger is worth the money if it only ads 48hps or something....what do you think ? am i wrong?

I say the turbo is worth it even with just 48HP gains cause of the weight advantage and the fact that you can do future upgrades on the internals since the Celica and some other cars have the same engine.The headers are nice but will never realy give any crazy power..
Will the headers give you enough power to like go uphill a little faster or.. a quicker 0-60 with a full car? Right now i have a I4 gen3 and its soooooooo slow! i was wondering if headers would give a car that extra push.
Yes and pair it along with a GOOD cat-back and you will be laughin'!
But if you can afford it, go for the TURBO instead of header. :smile:

That reminds me of something I've always wondered. Since the "V" engines have two banks of exhaust manifolds, does it always have to be a twin turbo?

I'm feeling SUPER, no, nothing bugs me;
Everything is SUPER when you're...
I never had any idea what a cat back was.. i just have my muffler replaced and its soo loud and deep now. Whats a Cat Back? Is it b4 the muffler? Enlighten me, hehe.
I believe you are right... 1 turbo per bank... same with V8 motors.

Catback goes from the bottom of the headers to the start of the muffler, if I'm not mistaken.
Borla/Brospeed does make a catback for the 4cyl gen 3 camry. However there are custom exhaust shops that will make one for you too and it is possible to get a good one, better than a name brand!

CAT-back = everything after CATalytic converter and before the muffler
Header+frontpipe = before CATalytic converter.
