Engine swap: will a 93 4-cylinder auto fit in a 91 4-cylinder auto
I have a 1991 4 cylinder auto. I have the opportunity to buy a 1993 4 cylinder auto with low miles- the car was T-boned, but otherwise complete. Will the 93 engine work in my 91? Can I use my 91 tranny?
If im not mistaken the 93 has the 5sfe. So it should be a direct bolt on to your 3sfe. But you will have to your wiring harness and ecu. But as far as the tranny goes... Im not sure.
91 is 3SFE and the 93 is a 5SFE. transmissions you would probably be ok. but you will ahve to have wiring work done and also need the ECu from the 93 most likely.

Modification: Changing something to what you thought it should have been from the start!
what are you really trying to do, if its to save money then a 3sfe swap will do you good! but if the 5sfe came at a discount, then do the extras in redoing wiring IMO!
