3rd Generation Gen 3 95 LE Rear Engine Mount

Gen 3 95 LE Rear Engine Mount, is this a DIY project?

I suspect my thug sound that I hear when I accelerate is coming from a worn out engine mount.

Is this easy to do?

Thanks.

I had the same problem on my 94. When I hit the gas from a stand still, I would hear a thud. Turns out it was the front engine mount. You can get it from ebay for $20 and do it yourself. Just look at your engine block in front and you will see it.

I'm not sure if you installing the front mount if it has to be lifted. My dog bone mount and front mount were broken and I bought both off of ebay and installed the dogbone one myself. The front mount looked hard because part of the engine acutally sits on it, so I took it to the dealer who installed it for me for $35.

I replaced my dogbone mount once and I supported the engine. I had to have all my mounts beside the tranny mount replaced recently and the shop told me YES the engine needs to be supported. Just have to put a wood block on the the end of the jack and put it under the oil pan.

yea, im about to replace my dogmount with a polyurethane bushings, the mount seems pretty loose (as in the engine isnt putting any weight on it) and looks like i dont need to support the engine though...

the dogbone just keeps the engine from moving back and forth when accelerating right?

why theyre called engine steady bushings?
