Problem seems like Rev Limiter -93 Camry LE

Hello again Toyota nation! I got my 93 Camry from my father who got it from my grandmother, and they all liked to drive slowly, but I have since found a problem with the car. It has only 66,000 miles, but when I am going somewhere around 60 MPH and my RPM's are approaching 4 K, it feels like my car has a whole lot of wind resistance and isn't going anywhere, then if I keep accelerating, the revs will go between 3 and 4 K but not move unless I let go of the gas.

It kinda feels like a rev-limiter, but there shouldn't be anything like that, and i'm not quite sure where the problem could lie. Since I got rid of my 18's and put back on stock 15's, the problem isn't as bad, but if I keep accelerating now it will make a little thud and then keep going.

Does this sound like a tranny problem? Could it be the gears (since it only happens when near 60 mph)?

I have an automatic V6 for this year.

Thanks for any ideas.

It sounds like the transmission is not shifting out of 3rd gear. But it shouldn't be the problem since you have it in D, drive. I dunno

well, make sure you have O/D on-overdeive, so you can shift into 4th.
thats strange, get a tune up, injector cleaner (local parts store!!NOT STP(bad stuff)), new plugs+wires.
but this is strange, i go 70mph in 4th gear, at 2750RPM also it can get to 100mph without too much trouble.
