3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Just to give everyone a heads up, today we did preliminary prototyping for a Gen4 5SFE CAI. We came up with a design that we think will work for everyone. It will be 2-piece, mandrel bent aluminum. We should have the first full unit installed and running on the test car (which will stay anonymous for now) within 15 days....updates & a review by the owner of the test car will follow accordingly.
Nope.. Gen 4 and Gen 3 have the same I4 but the CAI would have to be bent slightly different to fit it. The Gen 3 group buy was done but I dunno if they still can make more. They were.. for.. 130? (Can't remember) but they were really nice and they also had dyno numbers so you'd get the REAL deal on HP, not BS numbers.
TRP stickers give you 10 hp to the wheels though.. I'm still waitin' on some TRP license plate frames
This will not fit the Gen3 5SFE, however we already make an application specifically designed for the Gen3 5SFE. The threads can be found here in the Camry section.

What about a bolt-on CAI for the 1MZ-FE..??
Next on the list, we have to take the test vehicles as we can get them.
Have you ever considered making the whole thing a rubber hose so you can bend it any way you want ? is the feasable? Rubber can always be treated with something to withstand wear and tear, and if it does fall apart after 5 years you can always tape all the way up.
