Did you check fuses yet? Get a haynes manual for the car, and at least you can see what items are on the same circuit. That is a starting point. It could be lots of things, but you need to be able to narrow it down. Do you have a voltmeter?

Did you check the ground circuits on your relays? You say you've got power everywhere, but you haven't mentioned that you checked to make sure the ground side of your relay terminal plugs is okay. Also, you say you replaced the switch. You mean you disassembled the steering column enough to replace the whole turn signal arm/headlight control assembly?
One last question, were you in the electrical system before this problem started happening doing some kind of a mod or anything?

yeah iv replaced the whole turn arm light switch, when you open the drivers door the cargo light or door open warning light dont turn on, but on teh other 3 doors it will, the headlight relay has a good ground and the relay is working i cheaked all that i cheaked all teh fuses, now the crazy thing is just yesterday i was driving and my head lights randomly turned on for about 20 minutes then turned back off and the blinks or emergency flasers wont work, when you hit the emergency flashers you hear on click in the relay and thats it, when you turn the running light on you hear the relay click and on they go but no headlights and when you turn the headlights on no clicking of the relay and no headlights, buth when you hold the brights on click and on they go, but i cant keep driving while holding the brights on and no blinkers.

Neil, I'm stuck today - all kinds of stuff to do, but I live in Escondido. If you haven't solved this problem by next weekend, maybe you would like to bring your beast over here to my house and we'll go over the damn thing together. I have a 98 Camry LE and all my electrical works properly. Sometimes you have to compare between a "right" vehicle and "wrong" vehicle to find the problem.

yeah im compleatly stummed i live in vista and i took it to a shop of the family freinds and they had no clue either, the only thing that i can think of is the time delay on the headlights is bad but i have no clue where that would be and how to check it. im thinking of taking it to toyota but thats going to cost me a fourtune. i mean i have cheaked for shorts i checked all teh plugs and connectors, my dads also looked through the whole thing(its really my moms car but im probly goign to get it in teh summer with my licenses). anothor thing is that when i test for power is that the meter reads 12 volts but with a load on it its not enouhg for the lights bu tit dosnt make seince why the blinkers and dome light would go out to.

From your latest description I'm guessing short to ground somewhere, but I'd really have to see the problem in action to better assess. For what its worth, I've been working as a mechanic for NCTD the past 23 years. I'm pretty competent with electrical diagnosis, but even I can get stumped sometimes too, so I'm not making any promises. A good bud of mine who works with me at the bus company is an electrical wizard. I can probably get him to come over too. If the three of us can't figure out your problem then maybe you can think about pushing your car off the end of the Oceanside pier! LOL! My phone: 741-3507. Call me tonight. Real name is Rick. If I'm not home, my wife will be. Tell her you're Neil from ToyotaNation and give her your phone number. I'll get back to you.
