A completely built 1MZ would entail of blasting the heads, valve job, valve seals, oversized valves, custom cams, port & polish which would run you close to $2k. Then the block would need to be dipped, decked, honed, bored out which is about $400 in machine work. Fords pistons & rods will run you about $1600. So you're already up to about $4K. You could expect to spend about $5K for a true fully built 1MZ. You could certainly spend $2-3K and have a very solid and moderately built 1MZ.

People here have put together 5SFE kits for just over $1000. With a kit like that you should be able to get close to 200whp. A well-designed kit and including a metal headgasket should run close to 3K and would definitely get you into the 300whp range with the correct tuning and engine management.

Thank you, just wanted to know. On that note what will need to be purchased separatley to make your kit work so i can start looking now. Obviously better engine managment but any other recomendations?

Well if your going for 8 grand...

Go for the 5SGTE! 3S head and the 5s block[cast iron]. Best of both worlds =) You would have to build the 5s block internals, but thats besides the point One advantage of this is that the 5s block will be able to stay in. I will pm you with some info I had found on the 5sgte a while back.
