3rd Generation 5sfe Power options

So just because this car "looks" sportier and is lighter, it gets all the attention and R/D?

How hard would it be to jack this kit once its complete and use it on a camry- too much work?

http://www.racetep.com/mr2not.html

Also, has anyone heard of Alamo Autosports, they apparently have a 5sfe N/A crate engine that pushes 280hp. You only need to shell out 8 grand. Is this possible or a flagrant marketing lie?

I'll try to help, I highly doubt any 4 cylinder out of the box is gonna crank out 280 hp.If it did..It would have a crazy lift/duration cams that wouldt be very streetable and prolly would have to run 110 gas aall the time.if you want power out of a 5s..Put a turbo kit together.Or go here and spend 2500.00 on a pre-built turbo kit.

Don't worry R/D is finally being done specifically for the Camry community so you can expect equivalent if not better parts as those that you've mentioned to be available for Camry's.

You can expect an up an running prototype Turbo Camry in 8-10 weeks.

Is this a secret project or can you tell us a little more about it eg. what parts and what power is attainable. While it is possible for me to make my own which i am currently in the early stages of, i would like to know if there will be a kit that offer the same power and vastly easier instalation, availability and reliability.

Upcoming 5SFE Turbo Kit Info

There will be two setups tested and available for purchase. One that is an upgrade for the "homemade" turbo kits that most 5sfe turbo owners put together. This option is being made because it is a less expensive product, and as we know not all Camry owners have much funds for modifications. The other option will be a complete bolt-on turbo kit all the way from custom manifold, DP, FMIC & IC piping, injectors, etc.

Luis, are you saying that you will be offering turbo kits similar to the one on that website for $2500 for our Gen 3/3.5 camry's? If so, how much do you think it would cost? I'm more interested in a turbo kit than just a simple CAI on your other thread.

Well i hope that it will be better than the one burien toyota is ofering. I checked an install on meisners.net and the HP looked unimpressive, even with the low compression pistons. I am looking for a kit that support close to 300hp on a built engine. If your kit can do that i am sold.

There will be two options, one will be an upgrade for the ct26 turbo kits that people here on TN put together. Then the second option will be a full kit with all the necessary parts.

The full kit wil cost around the price of the burien kit but will far surpass what the burien kit offers. It will include a FMIC & all the piping, it will include a custom manifold and an aftermarket turbo with much more power capacity. It will be a much more complete kit.

No problem there, as long as you build your engine, the TRP kit will support 300hp.

$2500 is still cheaper than buying a new car with a one time payment.
