3rd Generation HELP: clicking noise when i turn my wheel on my gen 3

hi gentleman question here.my gen 3 camry has started to make some kind of clicking noise on the passenger front side.when i turn my wheel for left turns their is a clicking sound coming from there,im guessing it wouldnt be an axle cause it was make the sound even when im driving,not only on turns.someone told me it could be a tie rod.how serious can it be and what do you guys think it could be??thanx guyss

Given you symptoms, it sounds like an outboard constant velocity joint on the passenger’s side. The noise will get worse with as more miles add up. It can break if it seizes, although I have not heard of Camry joints breaking. Check you CV boots, see if they are damaged.

more than likely your outer CV joints. The boots tend to rip there on our gen3 camrys. You will need to replace the joint/shaft. Its not that difficult if you have the right tools.

i appreciate the help very much gentleman.i would of guessed my tie rod or soemthing to that effect.but i will bring it into my mechanic and have him check it out.thanx againn

Where could I find out how to do this? (my cv joints/boots are clicking bad, too...)
