3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
July 22nd night - Camry got vandalized by some kids or somebody while it was parked in the driveway. It was spray painted but luckily I just waxed my car a few weeks ago, so the paint did not really stick on it. My trunk and rear mirror was sprayed with black paint. My sister's 2004 Nissan was hit with 2 colors and it took a longer time to get the spray paint off (no wax).
Some garage doors were spray painted with the words "B1*ch", "F**k" and "S**k" in about 4ft * 7ft diamensions. All in all, about 1 dozen cars/trucks were hit at random and about 10 houses were spray painted. Police came knocking on my door at 6.45am telling me about it. There were like 3-4 cop cars on my street and they were taking statements.
I have waxed tonight my car before dark and left the wax on. So if they hit again, at least they will be spray painting on the wax
BTW...it's strange that you blanked out the license plate on the vandalized pics, but the show on all the other ones on your web site.
i was lazy earlier..
I am posting this pic on another forum and I do not have a link to my website.
i anticipate them to be back in the next few days.. i thought that tonight, my area will be crawling with cops but it's quiet.
One of the reason my car was not badly hit was due to the wax and also the auto motion sensor lights that came on when somebody walked too close to the house. Some people's house had it bad.
An extreme case of preventative maint preventing even worse damage!!! Imagine if this car hadnt been waxed in 6 months, how tough the paint would have been to get off. Dumb kids, bad karma for them whoever the hell they were. Anyway if theres paint traces left, good old polishing compound or even rubbing compound will work too, dont use any solvents or (gasp) paint remover obviously.
Put a cheap cam watching your front yard / drive way, and a gun of course. I would shoot them in the leg and drag them back into my house. They can either clean my car while bleeding or

Nah you need to get it over with and just shoot somewhere that they can't come back from. That way you don't have to go through the whole court thing (this is what my dad says; lol)
