I have a '94 camry 4cl. It started to putter at stops so I change plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I also changed the fuel filter. It ran fine for about 5-10 minutes then when I turned back into my drive way, the idle kicked up to 4,000 RPM by itself. I had to use both the regular and hand brake and threw it back into park. I waited a while and tried turning it on again but it was still at 4,000 so I turned it off. I tried again afew minutes later and the idle was normal but it was sputtering really hard and then turn off. I am not sure what it could be so I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Is the throttle cable or valve sticking? The IAC valve (helps control idle speed) could be sticking; it is located below the throttle body. The valve can be removed and tested. Past TN post have covered this valve and how to clean it.
