4th Generation 2000 camry CE I4

What rims and tires have others been succesful at installing on a 2000 camry CE I4. I know that the CE and LE I4's use different calipers and rotors, so fit may be different. Seems like there is a lot of info on LE's but very few CE's.

Also, do you think the rims/tires below will fit my car?

ACURA 02-04 RSX WHEELS AND TIRES,THESE WHEELS ARE GREAT CONDITION WITH FEW VERY MINOR SCRATCHES AND THE TIRES STILL HAVE ALOT OF TREAD LEFT.WHEELS ARE 16X6.5 ET45MM OFFSET 5LUGX115MM BOLT PATTERN.THESE TIRES ARE FALKEN GRB FK451 205-55R16 91Y.
I've read that honda/acura wheels may be problematic due to different sizes of center bore.

dont do it, check out the offset sticky for rims pics and info
i also once had acura rims on my car, thinking the lug pattern fit so it would b ok, but center bores are very important to wheel vibration. you need yur wheel to hug the center hub on yur car for the best feel...so you are right about the centerbore. and as for the rear fitment, you should b ok, most rim oughta be ok to clear the rear drums, rotors and calipers are more bulky, causing fitment issues.

i'd recommend finding something that suits yur tastes in the aftermarket range. and research tirerack.com for user reviews and prices. and also dont forget to get fitting lug nuts and a hub centric ring.
If you are looking to replace yur tires for cheap, find used toyota/lexus rims....
if you wanna give this a try, search yur local craigslist for a deal on someones used rims.

CE's & LE's use different calipers & rotors????

That's news to me.

Are you sure you're not thinking I-4 vs. V-6???

As far as 2000 models are concerned- yes. If you do a search for parts such as on etoyotaparts.com and search for calipers, you'll get two types. One for 14" rims and the other for 15" rims. Same things with rotors. I am not sure what the differences are but they are definitely different part numbers.

Ahhhh, OK, yes. 14" vs 15".

You'll see that on some Gen4 requests. They usually stop at '99, but then will include 00/01 if they're 14" as well.

I'm guessing there were still 14" LE's???

Either way, it's too bad Camryman.org wasn't still up 'cuz that was a GREAT place for wheel suggestions & I'm sure somebody's have your answer in a heartbeat!!!

Typically, however, you're usually *safer* as you go larger on your wheel diameter as you're clearing room out on the inner wheel side. But your concern is justified. You definitely don't wanna spend several hundred on wheels & have 'em not fit w/ the brakes........LOL!!!!

I think I am going to take a chance on the 17" IS 300 rims with 215/45 tires. The offset is 50 mm but seems a few folks have been succesful getting these rims to work with the gen4 I4 models without any spacers and no rubbing. I'll let everyone know how it works out if I win the bid on a set on ebay.

Mine were stock 15" so I have no idea with 14." As far as I know there wasn't any 14" LEs by the time Gen 4.5 came out.

Really? What size tires and did you have to use any spacers?

tyun77: I don't want to crush your dreams or anything, but IS300 wheels will not fit on a Gen4 with rear drums. V6 with rear disc brakes may be ok though. This has been discussed before.

Yah, I've read through all of the threads. It seems it depends on what tire size you use. For examples, Heng1028 has a 99 camry LE I4, which originally came with 14" rims similar to my 2000 camry CE, and was able to fit the IS300 rims with 215/45 rims w/o any spacers.

I seem to recall that there was a problem with the wheel hitting the drums or something in the rear but I cannot find the issue.

I did find a bunch of Gen3 & 4 with IS300 wheels, so I take back what I said about them having clearance issues.
