3rd Generation how do i remove gen 3 rear light assembly

hi

im trying to wire up a third brake light therfore need to remove one of the rear brake light assmeblies. I have opened the trunk and undone the 2 screws. The light has become loose from there but it wont budge from the opposite end.

Do i just pull it?? does it have a male/female connection just like the front indicators??

or

do i need to remove more screws

any help will be very much appreciated

I thought you had to take the side cushions out from the back, then unscrew and pullout the rear dash to get to it

You push the whole light assembly outward toward the side of the car (Driver's side on the left and passenger side on the right). There is a round tang that goes in to a notch in the car. It does take a bit of pressure to get it to release. I thought mine would break the first time I had to take the light assembly out, but it didn't. When I had mine out the first time I put some grease on the round tang before reinstalling it. It should come out easier the next time.
