3rd Generation Diagnosis Problems

I'm trying to diagnose an engine code and I'm not familiar with the Camry. I shorted E1 and TE1 in the OBD connector and in counting the check engine light flashed I got up to 400 and gave up. Does anyone know what this means or if I did something wrong??

Your help would really be appreciated.

You aren't counting correctly.. Pay attention and you'll see that it's long duration blinks, then short duration. Eg. (long, long, long -short pause- short, short -long pause- repeat code) 1,2,3- 1,2 The problem code is "32". If you can record it, we'll gladly read it for you.

Yes, it keeps blinking but what it's blinking is the same code over and over again.

res i bought a proper scanner, that works, at harbor freight for $30. I tested and used it at work for our 2000 Ford Ranger (POS) fuel truck with CEL on, and it said "0303" which meant cylinder 3 misfire. (I have a list of codes just ask). I changed the spark plug, the cheap scanner cleared the code, problem solved.
