UK 96 Camry 3.0 V6 auto changes jarring

Just bought Camry with 68k miles.

Had a full 63K service including cam belt change and auto fluid change to ensure all was in good shape.

Before service the gear changes were as smooth as silk, now they are rough and jarring.

Dealer reckons they are acceptable but I am not happy.

Any suggestions what may have caused the changes to become rough ?

Thanks in advance for any comments

Stan,

The first thing I'd check is the fluid level in the tranny. Your owner's manual tells you how to do this.

Good luck!

Thanks Digger,

Have already checked fluid level and it is ok.

Any chance that if the battery had been disconnected , it did have the cam belt changed at the service, the ECU would have to relearn mappings etc ??

nope- no belt changes will make a difference with the way the tranny engages

as usual, somebody's got to ask the obvious question though- did you make sure that the power button is off?
