3rd Generation New Door Handle on the Driver's side...

A year ago a bought 2 new door handles for the driver's side and the passenger side I fixed the passenger side and it works just perfect, but for some reason the driver's side is missing some kind of rod that latches onto the handle wear its suppose to open the door from the outside now I can only open it from the inside which is a pain in the ass since now I have to use the passenger side to get in the car including the fact that I don't have a lock cylinder for the driver's side either. Can any1 tell me is that the door lock actuator is broken or is there something missing that can be easily replaced? If I took the door handle off there is still part of the rod left to where I can push it foward and open the door but its a hazard leaving the door handle off of the door since it can be easily unlocked and opened so I just leave it on the door!!!

Yes, the latches are actually hooked together by some plastic things (you'd have to take a functional one apart to understand what I mean. The Driverside door has 2 rods, one connecting almost straight down (functionality with the key in the lock) and the other one, connected to another rod alongside the top which works only with the remote.
Hope this helps

One rod is directly connected to the lock. The other one is connected to a hole on the back (I think back left) side connecting to another rod near it

I'll check again just to make sure I didn't miss anything but if I don't see it should I just get another frame for the whole door?
