car gone crazy

yesterday, when i put the car in revers my guges went out.. so i just thought it was the fuse... but now every time i put it in revers, the fuse for the guges blows.. not olny that, if the fuse for the guges is blown, the car will not shift past 2... i have no idea what the hell is going on.. it just did this all of a sudden..

there a short somewhere try cleaning the front of your tranny where the selector switch is, if that doesn't fix it start looking at the wiring inside near the gauges.

i have not looked, at the tranny yet, bc it was raining out. but i looked at all the wiring under the dash, and there is not a things wrong.. at first i thought it was my alarm, i also took the entire shifter colum out and looked for things..... it seems to do it more when the tranny jerks back and forth... y would the tranny not shift out of second gear tho.. when the fuse is blowen...

check the switch might be broken, grounds out reverse and doesnt shift right for drive (2nd insteed of d)

but thats the thing.. if i put a new fuse in while i am in drive. everything is ok.. just when ever i hit revers things hit the shitter..
