Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
How is the JE Pistons company? I was going to get the Toyota 5SFE block for my Camry, but I need to know if the JE piston company was good or not. I will be going turbo with TRP so I need to start looking for engine upgrades.
Dome/Dish requires no deburring or preparation
2618 T6 high tensile forged aluminum
JE designs are specifically engineered for extreme applications up to, and including, professional competition. In this environment, the higher compression ratios, highest boost or heavy nitrous usage necessitate the higher tensile strength 2618 aluminum alloy.
Dome and dishes feature smooth flowing radii for excellent flame travel.
1.2 x 1.4 x 4.0mm ring widths.
.866 x 2.500 straight wall carbon steel wrist pin provided.
I don't really understand your logic. If people want to make any real serious HP with the TRP kit, they will want a built engine. Otherwise you will be stuck at 8 psi and not break into the mid 200's. So he is smart since he is obviously wanting to make serious SAFE power. I bet you won't see him blowing his engine like alot of people have. Kudos to him.

Turbo parts for sale: t3/t4 turbo, tapped 5sfe oil pan, MR2 map sensor, MR2 turbo manifold. PM me.
ita not that fact that he wants to have a built motor waiting for the turbo kit.. its the fact that he doesnt know any specs of the turbo kit in the FIRST PLACE. TRP hasnt released any information on it yet, what it can do, and whats included.
its like saying im going to buy the next Nissan Skyline GTR regardless of its specs because Nissan hasnt provided any information on the car yet.
Um, his question was about the piston company, so lay off dude, it doesn't matter if it's overkill for the TRP kit or not. JP Pistons is either good, great, bad etc, and you need lay off the insults. The guy asked a good question, he doesn't need some jackass bagging on him.
Anyway....long story short, yes, JE makes very good forged pistons, they are run in all sorts of drag racing classes and hold up well. It is a good idea to get forged internals if you are expecting ANY FI. I have a set of forged rods sitting in a box waiting for the rest of my turbo kit to come together. You can never build your engine too strong when a turbo is involved.
Mods please lock this thread now.

Without spending just complete bundles of money, JE makes very good pistons. If you have bundles of money, they can still build pistons that will stack up with the very high end, high dollar pistons.
Question answered. Lock it.
