4th Generation sunroof type?

hello tn members,
My 98 camry's sunroof is leaking from the top. My plan was to take the sunroof off to clear the drain tubes. After reading through the gen 4 repair manual on sunroof, I found out that there are basically 2 different types of sunroof. tmc and tmmk made sunroof. what are the difference between the two different types? How can one tell the difference?

I went out to look at the sunroof on my car and the manufacture is "wabesto".
Is it even a stock sunroof? I do not know this because I bought my car used and would appreciate it if someone can help me out.

you can probably tell if it is factory if it has the following:

1) Somewhere on the sunroof glass it says something like "Toyota United" or something like that. (Just like on your windshield, side windows, and so on).

2) It has a factory control interface. (above the rearview mirror, along with a personal light. On the left side of the personal light should be the sunroof switch, on the right should be the light switch.-- and it all is part of the trim piece that holds your sunglasses or garage door opener)

If you don't have both of the following, you probably (although it's still possible) have either an aftermarket sunroof or one that was put in by the dealership when new. (Sometimes if the first owner wants a sunroof on a car that didn't come with one, they'll ask a local shop to put one in rather than order parts from the factory and do it themselves)

the one I have got does not come with the map light assembly. but in the gen 4 repair manual, the one TMC make does not have the light assembly as well. Nothing that says "toyota" either. sigh ......... I am just confused. Thanks for your help though. I might just do "something" (no plans yet) to the sunroof seal and see if I can stop the leak.

All TMMK Camry's start with 4 in the VIN.
"WABESTO" is an aftermarket sunroof. I'm not familiar with them.
There's a '77 MG with a wabesto sunroof for sale on ebay.

Maybe the glass is a wabesto replacement for the factory glass?
Sorry I can't help much. PM me with your email and I'll send you a Toyota PDF on the sunroof.
