93 Camry - Cracked Windshield washer container

I may have put this thread in the wrong area, the Buy and Sell but was wanting some suggestions in the Camry forum.

I filled my windshield washer fluid and found several cracks in the plastic. Near the top and side, its leaking like Niagara Falls, when I top it up. Is this a common problem ? Henry (Silver Streak) also had experieced this problem. Does anyone have or know of a good place to get this replaced. Its for my 93 Camry Sport V6. Priced a new one at dealership $117 can. Called Carcones Wreckers no reply yet.

Any suggestions is appreciated.

Harvey.

If it's not too bad, just don't fill it up all the way to the top. You could also try patching it with some epoxy. Other than buying on at the dealer, your only other choice is the scrape yard.

It still doesn't matter how high you fill it, the washer fluid (I just use water in the summer) evaporates which is a pain in the ass.

i had the same problem on my 97 camry too. The dealer here in NY costs around 90 bucks for the container, he recommends getting it in the junk yard. My container only leaks when I fill it up, I couldn't find where the leakage is coming from so I tried putting crazy glue in the areas where I think is leaking. I don't think I fixed the prob but it's not like Niagara Falls, so I only fill it half way. It still drips a little tho but its better than paying 90 bucks for a container.

Hey, try some clear marine silicone. It is as invisible as you can get and it will hold up. It is 2 steps above 'boro engineering.

drill a hole through the lid of a washer fluid container, stick a hose in there and you're good to go

Mine actually is in good condition...but it broke off from the inside and was just sitting in my engine bay. I relieved it of its duty and am quite happy with the weight Reduction!!!

that's a common problem on GEN3 Camry
my dad's CAM has the same problem. Last time when I took the car to the dealership to replace the clutch and replace all those gaskets, I asked the mechanic. He said it is common problem. But you don't need to worry about it. It won't really affect your car, just don't fill it up. Anyway, it is usually the side on the top part goes crack. If that doesn't bother you so much, just leave it and save some money.
